The public’s interest in cremation continues to rise. Cremations now average 55-60 per cent of all funerals in metropolitan areas in Australia (IBISWorld, 2011).
This trend has been due to increasing limits on cemetery space, greater environmental awareness and price-conscious consumers.
As the popularity of cremations has grown, so has its acceptance among various religious faiths. Ultimately, the decision for cremation or burial is a matter of personal choice.
